This footbridge was made for the
Seattle Art Commission's Salmon in the City Project.
The bridge traveled to several sites in Seattle over the summer
of 2001, including the University of Washington campus and parks
around town.
You walk into the mouth of one
salmon and out the mouth of the other. There are a variety of
stories about the salmon, factual and fanciful, engraved into
the wooden decking. The underlying bridge is aluminum. The fish
are skeletal wire-framed diagrams made of stainless steel bar.
The fish bridge is currently part
of the waterfront of La Conner, Washington
Commissioned by the Seattle Art
Commission.
