Delmar Station

2005
Pasadena, California

Delmar Station is a 2 block square development featuring 5 buildings, 350 apartments, retail, parking, and an MTA Gold line station right in the middle of it. I was hired by the developer, Urban Partners, of Los Angeles, to design and build a series of artworks that integrates the 5 buildings with the train tracks that cut thru the center of the project.

There are over 550 feet of fences lining the tracks, as well as decorative panels that enclose the stairwell to the underground parking garages. There are also 4 large "medallions, which decorate a 35 foot tall tower at the center of the project.

Made from Stainless Steel and Bronze, with extensive hand forging, this project suggests the industrial revolution, railroads, factories, and the art deco architecture of the neighborhood.

Commissioned by Urban Partners, Los Angeles Ca.
